Minor Surgery - Dr McAllister removes warts, verrucae, small moles and cysts etc. patients must first make an appointment to see one of the doctors to determine if referral to this clinic is appropriate.

Pre-Conception Councelling - all the GP's are available to give pre-conception councelling.

pregnantFamily Planning - all the doctors and the Practice Nurses offer family planning and contraceptive advice. We are unable to fit coils however, if you require a coil fitting or changing you must contact the Family Planning Clinic at Collinson Avenue, Chorley 01772 644700 for an appointment.  Their opening times are Tuesday 6.30pm - 8.30pm  and Thursday 10.30a.m. to 12.30

Cervical Smears - please make an appointment with one of the Practice Nurses

Baby Development Checks and Immunisations - you will be informed by the Primary Care Trust when your baby is due for development checks and immunisations. Please telephone the surgery to make an appointment for these to be carried out. 

Dr Brickwood carries out the 6 week development check and the practice nurses will carry out the immunisations.  It is important when you make the appointment that you tell the reception staff what the appointment is for, they can then allocate a longer appointment.

Pre-School Vaccinations - parents of pre-school children will be informed by the Primary Care Trust when their child is due for vaccination - please make an appointment with one of the practice nurses

Ante Natal Clinic - the attached midwife sees our patients at the surgery on a Thursday morning

Post Natal Checks - make an appointment with the doctor of your choice for your 6 week post natal check.

inhalerAsthma and COPD Clinic - run by the practice nurse under the guidance of Dr McAllister - all patients will be invited to attend once a year for an assessment and review of their medication

Diabetic Clinic - run by the practice nurse under the guidance of Dr Boyes - all patients will be invited once a year for routine blood tests and twice a year to have a full review of their condition

Coronary Heart Disease - all patients on the CHD Register will be invited to attend annually for routine blood tests and a full medical assessment with one of the practice nurses

Smoking Cessation Advice - the doctors and nurses are available to give smoking cessation advice and support.

Physiotherapy - the practice has an in-house physiotherapy clinic. The doctor will ascertain whether your condition warrants referral to this service

immuniseFlu Immunisations - we offer flu immunisations to all patients over the age of 65 and to patients considered to be ‘at risk’ - there will be notices in the surgery in the autumn informing patients of when the vaccination clinics are to be held and all patients in the above categories will be notified by post.

Travellers Abroad - our practice nurses provide a wide variety of advice to travellers and we are a registered Yellow Fever Centre, unfortunately this immunisation is not available on the NHS and there will be a charge for the vaccination and the accompanying official certificate - please ask at reception for details.

Non-NHS Medicals - all the doctors in the practice carry out medicals for insurance/sport/employment purposes. please ask at reception for details of the current fees and times that these can be arranged.  

Community Baby Clinic - there will be a baby clinic held at the Railway Road Clinic every Tuesday from 2pm - 4pm (commencing 15th July 2008)  The Health Visitor will be inattendance to weigh and monitor the progress of your baby and to offer support and advice


SICK NOTES

Form SC1 is available from your employer or the DHSS, if you are self-employed or unemployed you need form SC2 this is available from reception. These forms cover your first week of sickness. For further sicknotes you will need to see a doctor
